I’m a producer, writer, and editor who brings scientific rigor to everything I do.
I love that journalism allows me to explore all the topics and skills I’m curious about (I’m curious about a lot). After getting my masters in 2014, I was a freelance writer for several years. I was the features editor and then managing editor at Futurism and then spent four years at Quartz, where I worked on special projects, membership offerings, and executive produced two podcasts. I am now a reporter/producer on the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything podcast.
No matter the topic or format my work is in, I approach my work with rigor and skepticism while seeking to make the world just a little more human.

Let’s get to know each other
I grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. I graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s in comparative literature and later got my masters from the Science, Health, and Environmental reporting (SHERP) at New York University’s Carter School of Journalism.
I’m also a passionate educator: I served as a corps member with City Year in Washington, D.C and have organized and led many trips with Putney Student Travel and New York Times Student Journeys. I am a five-time volunteer mentor with Girls Write Now.
I was a fellow in the National Press Foundation's cancer reporting program and a fellow at the Mayo Foundation Journalist Residency. I am a fluent (but not native) Spanish speaker and am an intermediate level in Korean. I love to bake, bird, travel, and read. I have two very silly cats, Mandu and Babka.
